Last Sunday was of course, Mother’s day. It was my mom’s turn to be the decision maker, so anything she wishes, we will follow. We asked her where she would like to have our dinner and surprisingly for us, she wanted to have dinner at Yellow Cab. I though she would say Max’s or Aristocrat, or anywhere that serve Filipino dishes. This was really new to us.

She also decided what food to order for that day. So here are the food chosen by ‘her majesty’.

Chicken Alfredo Pasta (Php 250)

According to the food description from their website, Chicken Alfredo Pasta is sauteed tender chicken strips and black olives tossed in a smooth and creamy white sauce garnished with fresh basil.

Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta (Php 270)

According to their food description from their website, Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta is tender chicken strips, shiitake mushrooms and roasted peanuts sauteed in a spicy oriental sauce garnished with spring onions.

This was first time trying this and I prefer this over the Chicken Alfredo Pasta.

New York’s Finest (Large)

According to their food description from their website, the New York’s Finest is made up of Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, black olives, mushrooms, onions, red & green bell peppers.

We were surprised that mom decided to have a large-sized pizza, considering we are only three eating that day. She said that she will take the pizza home just in case we were not able to finish it.

My mom was able to finish the pizzas at home and told me that she really enjoyed the dinner.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

According to my girlfriend, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is having great reviews from food bloggers. No wonder why my girlfriend is eager to try their ramen.

We ordered their set menus for this dinner. Their set menus includes Hot Tea, Chawan Mushi, Kimchi, and salad. Aside from these, you get to choose from a number of combinations. My girlfriend ordered their Small Ramen and Salmon and Prawn Sushi Set(Php 510).

You can also choose your own ramen. My girlfriend chose their Shio Ramen.

My girlfriend was surprised to the fact that naruto is also a food. She only knew the anime character Naruto, til this dinner.

For my set, I ordered their Small Ramen and Fried Salmon and Small Rice Bowl Set(Php 450).

Mentioning Naruto above, I chose one of Naruto’s favorite ramen, the Miso Ramen.

I was asked if I would like to upgrade my ramen to a medium size. I almost said yes, but I realized that I still have Fried salmon and a Small bowl of rice, so I declined.

My girlfriend also ordered butter and corn for our ramen.

And this is probably the highlight of the night, their Komi Tamago(Php 50).

This is probably the best boiled egg I’ve tasted. It is just effin awesome. We ordered 2 for both of us and luckily for me, my girlfriend did not ate the other half of her egg since she is already full. I got to get her share!

We will surely come back here to have that another round of ramen, and some great tasting Komi tamago!

Nanbantei of Tokyo

It’s our first time here and we noticed that most of the food they offer are either grilled or skewered. So while waiting for our orders to arrive, we were served with some free fresh veggies with shrimp paste.

We ordered a lot for this dinner and the first to arrive is the Miso Shiru(Php 85)

We ordered their Spicy Tuna Maki to serve as our appetizer (Php 185).

My girlfriend is craving for some rice balls at that time, so we ordered their Yaki Onigiri (Php 160.00 2 pcs)

The Yaki Onigiri serves as our rice meal for the day.

Next is their Yaki Udon(Php 270).

We did not touch this until the our order is complete. We knew that if we eat this immediately, we will not be able to savor everything we ordered since we will get easily full. But in the end, we end up finishing the Yaki Udon.

Next up is their Leba Maki(Php 140.00 2 pcs).

Leba Maki is grilled chicken livers wrapped in bacon. This is one of the highlights for this dinner. We never thought chicken livers would be this good.

Next up is their Namajake Sumiyaki(Php 235.00 2 pcs)

Next is the Pork Yakiniku (Php 100.00 2 pcs)

We also ordered their Tori Karaage(Php 195)

We were curious how Pork Sausage will be cooked Japanese Style, so we ordered their Pork Sausage Yaki (Php 150 2 pcs)

Guess how many of us ate these lots of food? Only 2!

We were very much full after our early dinner. We will try the other dishes we missed as soon as we come back.

Meiji Amino Collagen Powder Drink

Since there’s a craze in Japan on how to look younger, I got curious about their oh so famous Collagen Powder drink. And since I am a huge fan of Japanese products, and yes, I am bias that if a product is made in Japan, it probably is a good product. :p I didn’t hesitate to buy this online. And I also heard that this Collagen drink is making it big in Singapore. So, why not try it?

While reading other reviews about this product, most of them say that it taste nasty, and to a point that they want to puke while drinking. As for me, I find the taste just bearable, its not delicious but it doesn’t make me want to puke. Some say it smells fishy and tastes fishy too. Yeah, I would agree that it has that distinct smell but all in all it’s just okay. It is made from fish-y derived collagen so that makes it a little fishy. Enough about its fishy-ness. :p It’s not my favorite drink though, but for beauty and wellness, I can gulp it all! :p

I bought my Meiji Collagen Powder drink for the price of 2,500 Php. That’s around $60.00 its not cheap I know. While doing my research, I found out that some are selling it lower than that, just around 2,000 Php.

The Powder drink comes with a plastic scoop that helps you control your collagen intake. The powder looks like an iodized salt for me. But much finer. 

I’ve been drinking this Meiji Collagen Drink for a week now, and mmm… what can I say, I haven’t noticed any drastic change about my skin. I still look and feel the same. But what I noticed is that my pimples heals faster than before. Everytime I prick my pimples, and I do that a lot, I often suffer from red spots after. But since drinking the collagen for almost a week, my pimples dries up faster. 

That’s all I can say for now since I haven’t really finished the whole can. If you are asking if I’ll buy this product again, yes, I’m planning to buy it as soon as I finished my first can. 

So I was really excited to experience making my own pair. Before we reach Rockwell Tent, I was somehow worried because the previous Make Your Own Havaianas event was swarmed with a lot of people, and we went there after work so I was thinking it’s going to be a long night for us.

But luckily, the event organizers are prepared so we didn’t really experience the dreaded long queue. They transformed the Rockwell Tent to a beautiful Havaianas lovers haven. They made flowers made from Havaianas slippers and everywhere you look people are smiling and very much willing to help.

It was a happy experience for me and my sister. If given a chance again, maybe I’ll go again to Make My Own Havainas.

We asked them to slice it to two we can have an equal share.

My girlfriend was craving for some pasta at that time, and upon the recommendation of their staff, we ordered their Pasta Vassilikos. According to their menu, Pasta Vassilikos is penne with chicken loukanika sausage peppers in pesto cream sauce.

At first sight, it does not look that appetizing to me, so I thought we made the wrong choice. But after trying a few, the taste of this pasta is simply delicious. We indeed made a good choice.

Dr. Cantos offered me The Blue Radiance Peel to lessen the marks of my pimples. She asked me to go back after a couple of weeks. I agreed to what he told me because he’s the doctor. Who am I to disagree? My full trust is with him because he is for a fact a Obagi doctor.

Let’s talk about the Blue Radiance Peel. I have pictures of the procedure being done to me. Blue Radiance Peel is chemical peel for the face. And it’s my first time to undergo such procedure. I was scared because once you hear “Chemical” there’s something in that word that is really quite worrying, and to put that “Chemical” in your oh so precious face is really a bit shocking for me. Anyway, as I said my full trust is with Dr. Cantos.

House of Obagi Blue Radiance Peel 1

The procedure cost around 4,500 Php. Its not cheap, since its Obagi, you are paying for the quality, why not spend that much for yourself. Invest!

Blue Radiance Peel was mahapdi. I got scared because it was really painful. I was thinking what will happen if it burns my face and everything… Yes, paranoia hates me. Before i forgot, Dr. Cantos did the procedure, so you don’t have to worry because you are in good hands. And his nurse is also prepared, they have a small fan that they will put beside your face to lessen the pain. I was even asked to take pictures of the medicines and everything by Dr. Cantos, but I was scared and excited at the same time that I decline the offer.

After the Blue Radiance Peel, my face was a little red. It was just ok, not that scary kind of reddening. Dr. Cantos told me to wait for a week before the peeling starts. The peeling is called Micro Peeling. They said that it will peel but it’s so small that you will not notice it.

After 3 days, my face is still not peeling. And I got scared again thinking it is not working. The clinic personnel of House of Obagi told me to wait for a week or two before the peeling starts. Exactly after a week, the peeling starts, and to be honest it is not a good sight to look at. In some cases, Micro Peeling is not applicable, and that what happens to me. It got a little itchy and my skin started to peel. It was a depressing sight. Anyway, all for the price of beauty, the cliche “Tiis Ganda” is really true. Magtitiis ka talaga para gumanda. Brown spots was seen on my face, my mom even got angry and told me, what happened to your face?! I told her to just wait and see after this peeling and I’ll glow and be more beautiful. ahahaha! I think she was not convinced. :p

After 3 weeks, my skin was smoother and all the peeling was gone. Everyone noticed that my face looks brighter and smoother. I am really happy with my Blue Radiance Peel. It was worth the wait and I’m sure going to do it again anytime soon.

I have other products from Obagi that I used while I’m peeling and I’ll blog about it too.

Maybe when I have the guts to show my face to you guys I’ll post a picture soon too. Maybe a before and after picture wouldn’t hurt.

I thought this dish comes with rice, instead it comes with Mashed Potato. Since I prefer to have rice, I just get it from my girlfriend’s plate. Greedy me!

If you are used in seeing Bristleback in DoTA, I am sure that you will immediately notice his size. Comparing to the previous Bristleback, the first one is much bigger. in DoTa 2, he is kinda small. Probably I am used to see a tanker with large size such as Centaur, Tidehunter, etc. Also, on this update, they have changed the name of Wisp to IO.
